Hello,

On July 7, 2026, while hiking in the central French Pyrenees—specifically at the Ru d'Enfer at an altitude of 1,600 m—I photographed a dipteran with a long proboscis that appears to be an *Empis* species.
After doing some research, I am struggling to determine exactly which species it might be.
