Hello,

What do you think of this “feathery” Empis? Could it be Empis decora ♀?

Is it preferable to leave it as Empis sp.?

It's not decora and not pennipes, I think - but I cannot tell the species - it's in the group with E. pennipes.

Ok, thank you for your reply. Indeed, my specimen seems different from the one you indicated. It remains to be seen whether anyone can take the identification further.
