Hello,
This specimen was taken in the plain of Pyrénées-Orientales (South of France).
Following Igor Grichanov's key of North European species, I've identified it as Dolichopus discimanus:
Yellow femora, pale lower postocular cilia, basitarsus 2 without a dorsal seta, tibia 3 yellow, femora 2 and 3 with only one preapical seta, tibia 2 with at least two strong ventral setae, lower calyptra with black cilia, arista inserted at the apical quarter of the postpedicel, coxa 1 black at the base.

This Scandinavian species is, of course, very unlikely in the south of France.

Is it possible to identify this specimen, please?

Hind basitarsus with one dorsal seta; 3.0 mm. Maybe D. litorellus.

Thank you very much, Igor. I forgot to mention the size of the insect. I think it's more like 4-5 mm, but I could be wrong.

Igor,

On this second picture (https://www.flick...otostream/), we can see a rudiment of M2. So, it could be griseipennis, which is present in France ?

If so, then griseipennis is better version.
