Hello!

Sorry for the low quality pics, but this fly was again running rather fast at a tree trunk in our garden last Saturday (northwest Germany). Length about 5 mm. Can it be identified closer? Thanks!

Many thanks, Phil! I had Sphaerocera curvipes here last year around the same time in March. But that had much more thickened hind femora, so I didn't think of it this time. Is it sexual dimorphism?

Yes. males have thicker femora.
