Hello,
a 7-8 mm fly sunbathing on an ash trunk at forest border (northwest Germany).

no, I'm not, now that you mention it. :S Then it must be some sort of Militogramminae (?).

Yes, that's a Sarc and it is not a Milto
possibly Brachycoma.
