Hello,
I photographed this fly in the Gennargentu Mountains, Sardinia (NU), Italy, 1770m a.s.l. on May 13th 2025. I think it is a Tachinidae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species based on these photos?

Thank you! In the first picture the eye seems hairy, so I wonder if it may be the male of
M. majuscula, since I found a female nearby (

Well spotted, I missed that !
Other Meigenia can have some hair on eye, contra general believe, but this seems to be a bit much. So I'd say you are totally correct.
