Finding this male difficult to key. Seems to be Phaonia but doesn't match well, as far as I can tell, to anything in Nearctic keys or in Muscidae of Central Europe.
Collected yellow pan trap, Indiana, USA, June 2012.
Node of Rs with one small setulae underneath
No setulae at base of posterior notopleural
Hind tibiae with 3 AD, 1 AV, and 2 PV
Underside of scutellum with long fine hairs
Prosternum bare, widened anteriorly
Arista long plumose
DC 2+3, prealar developed but shorter than notopleurals or DCs
