Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Small Heleomyzid

Hello!

Unfortunately rather bad pictures. Is it nevertheless possible to tell something more than Heleomyzidae (perhaps Tephrochlamys sp.?)? It was only about 3.5-4 mm long. Yesterday in our garden at fruit bait (northwest Germany).

I saw a bigger fly with this colouration and similar habitus today at the same tree, but then I noticed, that it had preyed upon one of the small Drosophilas there ;). Must have been a Scatophaga (haven't assorted the photos, yet).
