Hi,
This evening I found a Therevid walking on the window frame. I had to use a flash to get the left pic, and as it was still rather dark, I took a strong flash for the right pic to see any colour patterns, but there weren't. I suppose it is a Thereva - can be said more?

It is a male Thereva. They are not identifiable usually from pictures. My guess would be a male Thereva nobilitata.

Theo, in this early spring there is much abnormality. The winter was no winter, the early bloomers are about three weeks too early, and they flower all simultaneously or in a mixed-up succession, respectively. Normally, the snowdrops precede the spring snowflakes by about a month, now the flowers of the latter are already withering whereas the first look still quite fresh.
The Thereva, however, was inside our institute building in the gardeners' repotting room; perhaps it came out of the composted earth that is stored there. It had a warm place there but nevertheless wandered about with only little enthusiasm. The daddy-long-legs spiders showed much more interest...
