Hello,
Maybe someone can tell me what species this is? I found them both in the garden today mating on a dandelion blossom.
Kind regards, Volkmar

Find data: Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia, D-59821 Arnsberg, 235 m, 27.4.2025.

I think it's Osmia bicornis: female with black last tergites and cornuta's male abldomen is red.

I'm not entirely sure about bicornis, maybe it's cornuta after all, I see two little horns on the female's head, what do you think?
The male's abdomen isn't red enough for me, and doesn't necessarily look faded either.

Hello Volkmar, you may compare the Osmias here:
O. bicornis: https://www.wildb...-orufa.htm
O. cornuta: https://www.wildb...-ocorn.htm
Like O. bicolor these Osmias live in my garden since years.
