I caught these two in the act :-)

I suspect there isn't much for a proper ID, but can you tell me if I got the family right?
Looks like Culicidae to me, based on what I've seen in other photos, the one in focus being the male.

UPDATE: changed title to Ceratopogonidae after Xespok's reply.

* habitat: small artificial pond in countryhouse garden
* substrate: Nymphaea leaf
