Hi all!
Today I took a few pictures of a medium-sized fly on a table in our garden. Its still pretty early in the year, but today was rather mild for January. My best guess would be that it belongs to the family Scathophagidae, but I'm just guessing here. Is it possible to identify that specimen from the pictures below?
Germany, Garden in southern Bavaria, Munich (-West), table, 24.01.2025, app.6-8 mm BL
Greetings, Uli

Hi John,
thanks for the quick response. Heleomyzidae would have been my second guess, I swear :).

Suillia pallida
