avicularia L. Ventral aspect of the head is the most essential character, and in this case it is difficult to see,

From what I can distinguish of the microtrichia on the wings and the number of setae on the posterior margin of the scutellum it must be
avicularia.

It is unusually dark for avicularia, though.
It nearly fooled me in believing it was Hippobosca.
All my Ornithomyia are completely yellow between the eyes.

Well, if it is Ornithomyia, and it certainly looks like it, it must be avicularia, given this size.
