Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Odd structure at abdomen of Asteia amoena (24.11.24) --> Stigmatomyces asteiae

Hello,

this Asteia rested at our housewall (northwest Germany). I never saw such a (symmetrical) structures at its end (see arrows). Do not seem to be pheromone sacs like in Thaumatomyia males. Some sort of fungi?

Oh nice - this should be Stigmatomyces asteiae.
Possibly the first record for Germany
