hi flyforum,

Today I found this Tachinidae (~9-12mm)
Wing is little damaged and one antenne is not working I think..
A lot of black long hairs, and further a typicaly white beard.
very long hair on scuttelum!
Is id possible? from this Tachi-fly?

place: Amsterdam forest

if needed, I got more detailed pictures.

Amazing find.

It is the male of Lypha dubia.
Common early spring species in forest, but this is really very early.
My first record so far was from 29th of march.
You beat this by more than 4 weeks !

Thanks a lot Theo.

In 2007 I found this specie precisely one month later, on the 25th of march.

Today I went outside after having the flu for some days, trying to get some sun, and flies B)
