Hello,

a 10 mm fly at a hedge near forest (northwest Germany).

Thanks a lot, Theo! I already had that species some days before, but I still have problems to differentiate between these mostly grayish flies... :|

Eye is bare and parafrontal is silvery, of course formal features like shape of calypter and comb on hind tibia can help. This species looks somewhat 'flatter' than most Tachinidae, which is of course a total jizz.... and period of flight is an indication as well, you won't find Sturmia in spring
