Hello,

I photographed this fly in Bazzano (AQ), Italy, 600m a.s.l. on July 6th 2024. I think it is a Miltogramminae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species based on these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

Yes it is a Milto and unfortunately, it is a female.
First impression was some Taxigramma, but head profile and wing venation if off.

So second guess is a female Senotainia.

The North American key says a pale tegula is uncommon in Miltogramminae, found in Hilarella, Taxigramma, and some Eumacronychia in the Nearctic region.
