(I post this threat for my sister, becouce she can not attach any foto.)
Hi flyforum,
This craneflies are difficult to ID for me and I can place this fly not well.
Photographed in wet surroundings on old cut down trunks and with putrescent plant material in the surroundings in the Vondelpark in Amsterdam on 12-09-2007 13.48
My sister thinks that it could be Limoniidae genus Gnophomyia
In the Netherlands are only two species,
lugubris and viridipennis........but of it, we have no example or photograph
What do you think

A colleague (Andre Vrijens) has found a photograph of viridipennis (
http://www.bioimages.org.uk/html/P4/P48666.php)... and these have many resemblances with the placed photograph and he occurs in the Netherlands.
Therefore....I think that we sit nevertheless well with Gnophomyia sp.

Yes, I agree with the Gnophomyia id. Here is some images of
Gnophomyia in North America.
