Hello !

First of all, I want to excuse myself if I ever break any rules of conduct with this post. I don't use this forum often and I had a bit of a struggle understanding the new rules, so I'm terribly sorry if something is done wrong.

Now that this is out of the way, let's address the main subject of this post ! This weird looking fly, about 7mm in length without the wings, and a strange looking proboscis.
I found it 746m in Savoie, a French department situated in the Alpes, I caught it using a net while searching in some Urtica sp. situated in a clearing in the forest next to a small stream so the air was quite humide.
This specimen was found on the 4th of Mai this year.
