This fly spent a cold April night on a lock of a hornet nestbox.
Frankenhoehe Nature Park, conservation area Scheerweiher, 2024-04-18.
Is it a male Tachina ursina?
No, Tachina lurida!

Actually, a male T. lurida. Shape of antenne is distinctive (and dust band on tergites are lacking)

Thank you very much Theo! I was not sure as this male is much hairier than the females I saw until now - like a bear.

Vocabulary and impression: male T. lurida = T. ursa (ursus). ;)
