Hi,

unfortunately, this pretty little fly was not very patient, so I got only a few pictures of it. It has a distinct golden tinge on the upper part of the body and I think it might belong to the Dolichopodidae family. Is it possible to determine genus or species from the image?

Germany, Southern Bavaria, Munich (-West), leaf, 23.05.2024, app. 5 mm (maybe a little bit more or less)

Greetings, Uli

Dolichopus ungulatus, the only common species with more than one preapical bristle on each hind femur.

Hi John,

thank you for the identification. Your eyes are pretty good, I had to enlarge the region to see what you mean.

Greetings, Uli
