Hi,

this little black fly sat on a leaf in our garden. It is shiny black and the wings are partially darkened. My uneducated guess would be that it could be a tachinid fly, probably a male. Is that correct and/or is it possible to narrow down the determination?

Germany, Southern Bavaria, Munich (-West), leaf in garden, 21.05.2024, app. 5 mm

Greetings, Uli

I think it's a male Nyctia halterata, Sarcophagidae.
