Collected in the month of August on a mushroom in a forest in the Netherlands. Any ideas?

Apparently lacking preapical setae on tibiae, thus Hirtodrosophila. Most probably H. confusa. Tip of aedeagus looks differently when seen in various aspects; closer study of micropreparation would allow precise identification.

There are indeed no preapical setae, only apical setae. As far as I could find, the other European species are H. trivittata, H. oldenbergi and H. lundstroemi. The first one looks very different. Online, I found a key by Okada (1967) for the Old World species, but I don't know if this key is still recent. As the mesonotum is unicolorous, by this key it would exclude H. oldenbergi and H. lundstroemi.

Unfortunately, this key doesn't illustrate the genitalia of H. confusa. As you asked, I took pictures of the aedeagus. This is the aedeagus in lateral view. I hope you can confirm the species.

And this is the tip of the aedeagus in dorsal view (not 100% dorsal, it is a little bit shifted)

This is an exact match with H. confusa as illustrated by Bächli & Vilela (2007: Photomicrographs of the male terminalia of Scandinavian Drosophilidae (Diptera). - Mitteilungen der Schweizerischen Entomologischen Gesellschaft 80(3-4): 231-246. http://doi.org/10.5169/seals-402949
