date: 18 Oct. 2023; location: in Hamburg, Germany; on leaves of a scrub at the border of a park with large trees and a pond;
a male fly of the Platypezidae family? probably a Protoclythia species?
Thank you for any ID comments!
Best regards, Volker

Hi Volker, I think it's a male Platypeza sp. - if you have more photos, esp. lateral ones of the head and the posterior side of a wing, we may go to species level.

Thanks a lot, Eric!
Unfortunately, I couldn't take any more pictures of this fly. To know at least the right genus is excellent. Next time I try to get more pictures.
Best regards,
Volker
