Hello Forum,
the attached picture shows a fly I photographed on May 22nd 2007 in an (arificial) alder marshland in Hagen (Germany). I don't know what species it is. I think, it is a species of the syrphidae - family?!
The site is about 175 meters above see level. The plant in the background is
Anthriscus sylvestris.
Thanks to all who will help me (us).
For a better understanding: Together with another teacher of biology (almost retired) I try to list all organisms which are together with the plants of an alder marshland. The complexity of the insects - to date - is our biggest problem!

it's a female Myathropa florea.
