Hello everyone
I found this hoverfly yesterday in the Black Forest (southwest Germany) on the edge of a forest path (fir, beech). The size was about 10 mm. It is probably a male of the genus Cheilosia. Can you identify the species?
Greetings Siggi

Hello Siggi, with van Veen's key in Hoverflies of Northwest Europe I ended up with
canicularis group and male
C. himantopa ("tergites with copper sheen, last segment of tarsae often dark") But I fear, it's not enough to be quite sure and it'll be better to wait for the expert.

Hello Eric,
thanks a lot for your help. That looks very appropriate to me, but unfortunately I only have this one picture. Then I'll wait a little longer. If no one answers, the picture gets the name Cheilosia cf. himantopus.
Greetings Siggi
