Hello fly-catchers
Can some gentle and knowledgeable soul confirm that this is Tachina magnicornis ?B)
Chateauneuf d'Oze (Hautes-Alpes, France) August 10 2007

Thanks

Nope, it is typical fera:
tarsi reddish, vertex narrow, black vitta on abdomen narrowing on tergite 5, smaller third antennal segment.

What made you think it might be magnicornis ?

Well, I have seen fera usually with more yellow hair around the occiput, and somehow it did not look like the proportions of "typical fera". But I was indeed worried with the color of the legs, for one;
Howsoever, I bow to your superior knowledge ;)
Thanks
Philippe
PS Oh, and I guess the locality being far away from home, I was hopefull for novelties :D
