I had 2 of these Tachinidae in a yellow pan trap on the bank of a small brook in France, Tarn. Which genus or species could they be?
France - Paulinet (FR)
yellow pan trap 10-12 juli 2022
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Gut feeling is Phorinia, but specimen is in suboptimal condition, to put it politely.

The strong bristles above the vibrissa are on the facial ridge, not the parafacial.

So they don’t count on ‘ parafacial hairy’
and the prealar is, indeed , shorter
so I still think this is Phorinia.
