I know the angle is pretty terrible for identification purposes, but could these be Spaerophoria sp.?

Yes, a female Sphaerophoria.

Dear Sarah,

I think it is Sphaerophoria shirchan, the yellow stripe at the side of the thorax only in the first halve, and the face with a median black stripe.
