Two Empididae: Empis ciliata (above) and something similar to Rhamphomyia sulcata, both males :)

E. ciliata is the predator.

Paul, yes, but I was surprised 2 insects of the same family could be predator and prey... but why not ? :o

In Empididae it can be species within the same genus or even specimens of the same species have been reported as predator.
