Interesting photo - I think the 'food' is a long-dead fly killed by a fungus (it looks to have mould on it and it is sitting in a characteristic way). The 'predator' is probably just tasting it and laping up any fluids coming off the carrion.

I think it too... I have a lot of photo's of Syrphidae killed by a fungus and strange is the fact that they all are on the same plant (and though they are many same plant all around). And always in the same position, like here on the pic...

Any idea of the name of the 'predator' ?

May be prey was not in completely good health, but it is always the way of week organism in nature.
I'd think that predator is predator OK, my test it may be Coenosia
