no... this is Sarcophagidae family. Not Tachinidae.
For Old World remember red traffic-eyes --> Sarcophagidae.

Jorge means the red eyes - when you see eyes like that on a big bristly fly with: a bend in the median wing vein; strong, grey stripes on the thorax; and grey squares on the abdomen then you can usually be sure that it is a
Sarcophaga spp. (the really big ones) or at least a close relative. :)
