Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Dark syrphid ID? --> Platycheirus albimanus

Small dark syrphid with whitish markings on the abdomen and a shiny thorax. Photographed on chickweed in our garden in Mechernich-Satzvey (Germany) on 20 April 2022. Is ID possible? To me Melangyna umbellatorum seems to be an option. Thank you very much for your help.

Hello Roger,
thank you very much for identifying this fly. I now see the distinctive clump of hairs on the front legs (pictures 1 and 5).
