I pictured this Chironomidae in my garden on 2022-02-28,
Can we ID this specimen ?

John - Does that basally constricted tergite VIII occur in Tanytarsini? I thought it was fairly diagnostic for Polypedilum.

It does occur in some Tanytarsini. It is diagnostic within Chironomini.
