This syrphid was seen on June 17th in the southwest of Germany on an umbelliferae - flower. Length about 8-10 mm, the abdomen looked strikingly wide.
Is it a Chrysotoxum sp. and could be identified the species?
Thanks and best regard
Ulrich

Hi Ulrich, I think it's a male Chrysotoxum arcuatum.
