Small sea flies,... Ephydridae? 15th December 2007. El Golfo, south coast of Lanzarote, Canary Islands. Walking in the surface of the sea water and the next rocks (volcanic rocks), in areas covered by the sea during the high tide.
What species can be?

I think this is a canacid, not an ephydrid.

This is proving a bit of a puzzle - I dont think it's a
Canace species, and
Xanthocanace ranula doesn't match. To my knowledge there are no other Canacidae on the Canary Islands, so it might be a new species, or else I had too much brandy over Christmas, and it's something else entirely.
