It would be nice to hear still Jan Willem's opinion, because G. apicalis is very rare in Finland. Let's wait.

Although the thorax is rather dark, I do agree with Roger.
And Geomyza apicalis might be less rare than we think. It's less easy encountered than other Geomyza species. It's not that great at flying and seems to be mainly found low in the vegitation. To my experience pitfall traps can be a good method to collect specimens of G. apicalis.
