Camille pointed out that this is not a Hymenoptera :)

She suggested it is a Nematocera, but I am not even sure in this, could be a Brachycera with long antennae. But then it should be distinctive. This was a smallish fly or midge maybe 3mm.

Anyone has an idea what this could be?

Platypalpus (Hybotidae). It's a very large genus.

I could accept Hybotidae, but this fly certainly looks very different from all other Platypalpus that I had seen so far.

Drapetini (Drapetis or Crossopalpus).
