I have to disagree.
C. festivum does not have a dark band along the leading edge of the wing. I think this in one of the Mediterranean species of the
Chrysotoxum intermedium 'group'. They have been discussed
here (and elsewhere) before, I but cannot recall how to tell them apart.

You are right Kahis... it's not
festivum, though also
festivum has a darkened area on the wing, but just not to the tip. But
vernale does!
The picture here is very vage on the antennae... like I see it now, it looks like
vernale/festivum, not
intermedium (which has a very long 3rd segment, much longer than 1 and 2 together).
