Tried to raise a Sciomyzid found in a snail shell - but something had found the larva before me...
Would like to know if a further ID is possible (also of the fly pupa)

You can start in Ichneumonidae

Based on the joined hind spiracle of the larva/pupa I'm quite sure that this is a syrphid and not a sciomyzid.

It might actually be a syrphid, however, I'd like to see a photo of
Trypetoptera punctulata pupa, if only for comparison. Didn't find a good one in the web so far

You'll need an expert, but in Diplazontinae, all confirmed host records are Syrphidae. With a specimen, you can give it a try with the revision of Western Palaearctic spp. (Klopfstein, 2014 - Zootaxa 3801 (1): 001-143)
