Hi,
On 12th June I came across this
Tephritis male on
Arctium in southwestern Germany, 50 km west of Stuttgart. As to wing pattern,
T. bardanae is closest, and the plant would fit. Do you agree?
Thanks for any help, Sundew

Apparently T. bardanae. It looks like it has a yellowish rather than brown body? Am I right?
Some problems are with the yellow-bodied form on Arctium minor, which is usually considered as a separate species T. zernyi Hering.

I thought of
T. zernyi because of the rather yellow body, but as you write in
https://tb.plazi....D4FED0FCE9 "wing with yellownish brown pattern with yellow dots in
T. zernyi and dark brown pattern with hyaline dots in
T. bardanae" I decided the wing pattern was too dark for
T. zernyi. But there is some uncertainty in the identification, I will note this to the pictures. Many thanks, Val.
