Hi,
For a change, here is a living one from 31 July. It fed on Erigeron annuus (Asteraceae) and was rather small. I am sorry that there are not many details to be seen, but the wings show a petiolus - and I learned that was typical for Phasia. Can this genus be confirmed?
Many thanks, Sundew

Phasia sp. - TACHINIDAE.

If it has yellow haltares (I think I can see them) then it'll be Phasia barbifrons :) I have found the darker face is also indicative - Phasia pusilla has brown haltares and a more silvery face.

The halteres are yellow for sure. Many thanks, Chris! (And thanks also to Jorge for confirming the genus.)
