Hello,
Is an ID possible for this Tachinid? At first I thought it might be Phorocera obscura, but the more I look at it, the less sure I am (the abdomen seems a little less elongated, and the distal part of M1 seems less curved than is the case with Phorocera)...

Pictures taken May 23rd in a residential area in Nieuwegein, The Netherlands

Thanks in advance,

Reindert van Eekelen

Bend in vein M well spotted, Reindert ! Its shape is typical for the tribe Blondeliini. General impression is that of a male Meigenia and the erect apical scutellar bristles confirm this. Alas, genitalia needed for species level.
