A nice, quite distinctive Chironomid midge visited today my garden for the first time.
The body length is cc 4-5 mm. I assume this is a female belonging to sf. Chironominae, where such patterned leg and dotted wing with a characteristic extra shading may be disctinctive to get better ID.
