Heureka! I'm sure I've found the male Bibio venosus today - 20 m from the female of 10.05.21.
It's in the Frankenhoehe Nature Park, old deciduous forest, on Urtica dioica.
Greetings, Eric

Yes, it's an old forest with beech, oak, hornbeam and many others + dead and decaying wood (close to my garden). And the Bibio are mostly on the low vegetation in the same area. Until now:
johannis, lanigerus, marci, reticulatus, varipes, venosus (+ later clavipes).

Venosus, and also reticulatus, are typical for deciduous forests.
So that figures !
