Hi
This fly was collected in SW-Norway 210520 in a dry flower meadow, I key it to Panzeria(Ernestia), but I am not confident that I am right. Hairy cheeks, black hairs, and crossed apical scutellar bristles, I make that P. puparum, any thoughts about that?

Hi Jallehei,
You are off, indeed. Panzeria is twice as large. This is Smidtia conspersa.

I am not sure which key you use. Prosternum is hairy and humerus should hsve 5 bristles with basal threein a triangle.
Oh, and the prae-alar bristle us strong ( all different from Panzeria!)

Also use www.tachinidae.eu.
The more keys, the merrier !
You are doing fine, once you mastered the first 20 or so genera, life gets easier.
