Hello,
I photographed these flies in Bazzano (AQ), Italy on April 11th 2021. I think they are Bibionidae, but is it possible to identify their genus or species from these photos?
Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

Yes, it is Dilophus and it is NOT the common febrilis.

Thank you very much Theo! Which features should be checked in order to identify the species?

I am afraid so. I am not comfortable in Italy (as far as Dilophus is concerned).
