Hello

If I am not mistaken, this fly is part of the dasiopinae subfamily, is the Daiops ganre the only one of this subfamily, if so is it possible to find the species (ensifer, latifrons ...)?
thank you so much

Hi Allan
these big European Dasiops species you mention both have partly pale tarsomeres so I dont think your specimen fits. It may be that you are confusing the anterior setae on the mesopleura with poststigmatical setae - they can be difficult if you are not familiar with Lonvhaeidae. Is it possible for you to send me the specimen??
