You gave the critical features yourself

* palpi very small, about 3 times as long as wide
* abdomen greyish with red tip
* second antennal segment reddish
* whitish hairs on sternite 1 missing

The last point is the difference with varia, as is the colouration of the abdomen, as you had rightly observed.
