What an interesting photograph ! sahows up the value of this site. Not that much is known about what adult Lonchaeidae feed on, obviously some species do feed on flowers & honeydew but given the number of individuals which must be about in woodlands they are not seen feeding very often. There is an interesting record in the literature of one species - Lonchaea affinis - being caught in reasonable numbers at meat traps set out for Calliphorids in Norway - so it could be that some species at least like a little meat with their veg. .....
